Men's Johnny Cash Bird Heather Grey T-Shirt
“Hello. I’m Johnny Cash.”
Do you know the real story behind the famous photo of Johnny Cash giving the finger during his 1969 San Quentin State Prison gig? In 2010, photographer Jim Marshall had asked the country legend to express his true feelings regarding prison authorities whilst he was playing the show. Marshall jokingly asked John to do a shot for the warden, and Cash flipped the bird.
Which, to be honest, isn’t that surprising considering that Johnny Cash once broke his toes trying to kick the bars of a jail cell in Starkville, Mississippi, after he was incarcerated for trespassing. Although Cash never spent any considerable length of time in jail, he was arrested seven times and ended up spending a few nights in a jail cell. Which is actually quite surprising to a lot of fans, particularly because of the lyrics to “Folsom Prison Blues” speak so profoundly to the feeling of being incarcerated, and because Cash played in prisons throughout his career, sympathetic to the plight of those who had run afoul of society. But that’s also because Cash was a genius, and we all know it, and so he can flip the bird at whoever he wants because they obviously probably deserved it!
So anyway, if you basically wanna carry around a piece of iconic Johnny Cash musical history on your chest, then you gotta get this Men's Johnny Cash Bird Heather Grey T-Shirt!
